About Me

WHAT THERAPY MEANS TO ME

I believe that everyone possesses the capacity for growth, and my commitment is to foster a safe and affirming environment where clients feel supported, valued, and equipped with the resources they need to embark on their transformative journey.

Hi, I’m Adriana, MS, PLMFT

(She/Her/Hers)

It is a well-known secret that many therapists begin their journey of helping others with the journey of helping themselves. That is where my journey began. I know how difficult life often is and this is where my strength lies. Yes, I have the education, but for me what is most important in my clinical work is that I have a lot of life experience. While my story is not important to your healing, often one wants to know that they are truly seen and the person seeing them understands. My lived experiences include:

  • Primary and Secondary Trauma

  • +20 year relationship

  • Older Child Adoption and RAD

  • Child with Chronic Medical Condition

  • Child with Cognitive Delays

  • Immigration

  • Launching of Big Kid

Healing happens in relationships. Imagine the possibility of transformation with someone who gets what you are going through.

Part of being human is the inevitability of encountering difficulty. If you have the courage, these difficulties can be used as a catalyst for transformation.

What I bring into the therapy room is unconditional acceptance, an emphasis on grace for self and others, and genuine compassion to each one of my clients. We are beings living with difficulties that impact how we live and we are each doing the best we can.

GROWTH ILLUSTRATIONS

Isabella wakes up and thinks “just five more minutes.” She is so tired and her day hasn’t even started yet. A part of her wishes she could stay in bed forever. Another part is yelling at her that she has to get up. After she showers and dresses she heads to the kitchen for breakfast and one part tells her she is hungry and should eat and another part critics her choice while saying mean things about her body. These multiple parts are constantly in her head, these roommates that she didn’t invite and cannot quiet are often really mean!

She came to me because she just couldn’t live like this any more. She was exhausted. With my help, she was able to quiet those parts of her and become more grounded, calm and confident.

You deserve to live this way, too.

Jason doesn’t understand why he is having thoughts that his husband might be cheating on him. They have been together for almost 20 years and he has never felt this shaky in their relationship before. Not only does he feel shaky in his relationship, he feels shaky in his life. Where is he supposed to be right now?

I helped Jason slow down and discover what was going on internally with himself so that he could have a better relationship, not only with his partner but within himself.

You too can improve your relationships.

While you may not resonate with Isabella’s or Jason’s journeys, there is a common theme in both these stories, Jason and Isabella were experiencing a lot of discomfort. The crazy things about discomfort is it allows us the opportunity to grow!

You deserve to grow. You deserve to heal. You deserve to transform.

Are you ready to begin your journey?

Please feel free to reach out to me to begin your transformation.
I’d love to help.
